Every once in awhile I’ll think about my website and my blog and how horrible I am because I never update it. Then there are days like today when I think about it and I say, ya know what, I’m gonna do something about this.
So what exactly am I doing? I’m updating whoever is reading on what’s been going on in my life since the last time I updated my site, which, believably, was June 2019.
Life gets in the way of things and sometimes you have to sit down and prioritize and that’s exactly what I had to do in July of last year.
I got pregnant and Joe got cancer. The podcast had to take a bow and is sitting on hiatus at the moment.
I traveled the world with my husband and saw three beautiful countries in two glorious weeks last August.
I was pretty sick for the first part of my pregnancy shortly after returning home and it took all I had to focus on my day job, so things like Horror Metal Sounds and the books I was working on had to also be placed on hiatus.
Family had to take up a big chunk of my time, but again, priorities. It’s what matters.
Time isn’t unlimited and none of us are getting out of here alive, so we just have to make the most of what we can when we can.
My son was born last week and I never knew I could instantly love and ferociously want to protect something like this. My priorities will continue to shift, but I will also continue to dedicate my time to myself and my writing when I can, I’m just not going to beat myself up over the small stuff anymore.
There’s a global pandemic going on. Leave it to me to birth a child in the middle of an outbreak. Gives “apocalypse enthusiast” a whole new meaning…
So anyway, I hope you appreciate me sharing just a few tidbits of what’s been going on with me. I hope all my readers and Internet friends are doing lovely and that all of your lives are beautiful at the moment, and if they’re not, I hope things take an upswing soon.
Wash your fucking hands.
Love,
Stevie
