Hello all!

So, I know I’ve been saying I am working on Earth To Millie, and yeah, I totally was. I got 40k words in to the novel and then, because my brain took the train to LaLa Land and I couldn’t focus on anything, I decided to take a break from EtoM and work on some smaller projects.

I had so many different ideas floating around inside my head and different characters begging me to write them. So I decided to write some short stories instead of a full length novel. So, while I only completed two so far, I’m at least doing something with myself. We all get in a slump sometimes and what can we do aside from pick ourselves back up and in the words of Shia Labeouf, JUST DO IT.

I’m glad because I got my creative juices flowing and I have a couple different things I’m going to be doing in the future. The first will be a collection of short stories about different zombie apocalypse scenarios and how people’s relationships with others as well as themselves change during chaos and tragedy. Oh pishaw, I know what you’re thinking, BLAH BLAH BLAH something about how you’re tired of zombies. Yeah, well, that’s okay. That’s why I’m writing about the people, not the zombie apocalypse or the zombies. The shorts will be nothing like The Breadwinner Trilogy, something completely new.

The second project I’ve just started on today will be a Dystopian Mystery Thriller… that’s really all I can say to describe it. Because I don’t know how else to categorize it. I’ve got two full chapters down, 3k words in. Not bad for one morning after being such a space cadet these last few weeks!

I can tell you that this new work in progress is set 20 years after the world ends and a government emerges called The Alliance, full of corrupt politicians and mob bosses. The main character, Jack, and his partner, Evans, discover evidence of the corruption that leads them down a dark path when all they wanted was to bring The Alliance to its knees and give the city back to the people.
