Hey peeps!
This past weekend’s Decatur Book Festival was fantastic! I had a ton of fun, met a lot of really cool people, and sold out of The Breadwinner! I did not expect to sell out of anything so that is super exciting for me. I really hope that for those of you guys out there that purchased TBW Trilogy last weekend that you enjoy the hell out of it! (I do have four copies each of Haven and All Good Things left so if anyone is interested in purchasing signed copies, let me know and I’ll ship them out.)
In other news, I submitted my short story “Rosie” to a Women in Horror anthology. I’ll probably find out some time in October if they’ve accepted it. If not, it’ll go toward my future short story project. I’m also putting off my other project that I started, I didn’t have a name for it yet, so I’ll just call it Jack. So anyway, I put Jack on hold because Earth to Millie was calling my name. (Yeah, yeah, I know, I’m a real fickle bitch.)
I’ve decided to rewrite Earth to Millie from the beginning. I think this is a good move because I can trim a lot of the fat and actually have a story written that I like. I mean, not that I didn’t like the previous 50k words that I wrote, but I didn’t love them, and that was keeping me from finishing the story. I’d gotten about halfway through and just stopped. And that isn’t like me. So rewriting will help me finish EtoM, and that way I can start getting into the next stages.
For those of you not familiar with Earth to Millie, EtoM is a lot lighter than TBW Trilogy. It’s a New Adult chick-lit/sci-fi/comedy… think Sex and The City meets Invasion of The Body Snatchers. But completely different, well, because it is hehehe. But don’t worry fellas, just because I said chick-lit doesn’t mean you wont like it.
So anyway, I’m pretty confident that if I stay on the grind that I can finish EtoM by the end of September. I’m also going to begin working on the audiobook version of All Good Things with Scott soon. Can’t wait to get you guys the audio for the third book in The Breadwinner Trilogy! So far I’ve heard fantastic things about the other two books on audio.
That’s all I’ve got for you guys right now, as always, sign up for the mailing list to stay up to date and keep checking the blog for more info!
